There is one more face of the veil to see before we ask what it costs — and this one is tender: the forgetting is a mercy.
Imagine the alternative. Imagine arriving in this life with total recall: every previous lifetime, every old failure and glory, every debt and grievance carried forward with perfect bookkeeping. Every person you meet, you would meet through the ledger — this one who wronged you three centuries ago, that one you abandoned once, the whole ancient tangle live in every glance. Nothing could ever simply begin. No one could ever be met as new.
The veil wipes the slate — not by erasing the account (the deeper self keeps what matters, and old patterns are re-offered as fresh catalyst, without their crushing archives attached) but by granting each incarnation the grace of a genuine morning. You are allowed to meet your oldest companions as strangers and fall in love with them again. You are allowed to attempt, unburdened, the lesson you have failed a hundred times. The veil is why this life feels like your life — original, unwritten, wide open — rather than the ten-thousandth chapter of a story too heavy to lift.
Seen this way, forgetting is not the opposite of grace. It is one of grace’s most practical forms: eternity’s way of giving you, over and over, a true beginning. This morning, veiled and unremembering, you woke inside a universe of second chances.
🔮 Voice of the Confederation — a verified passage from the channeling archives (Sundays):
“Before your present physical vehicle was created, you chose this circumstance and this continuing line of circumstance. What about this was so valuable? The gem which you chose was this very veil of forgetting and the blindness of the choices you would be making within this density and this incarnation.”
