🧭 About this series

Each issue offers a Q-by-Q walkthrough of one Ra session, pairing plain‑language commentary with practice prompts, context notes, and a companion reading list drawn from L/L Research resources (e.g., A Concept Guide, Living the Law of One: 101 — The Choice, Tilting at Windmills, A Wanderer’s Handbook).

🗺️ Session snapshot

  • Sexual energy transfer during the previous session strengthened the shuttle of contact; the contact self-limits if weakness/pain arises.

  • Magical personality: only sustain through the working if you are truly able; Carla should not carry it into trance.

  • Pre‑veil 3D: no forgetting; reincarnation cycles like ours; optimal incarnation ≈ 1,000 years.

  • First tool of free‑will extension: the veil between Matrix (conscious) and Potentiator (unconscious); later refinements followed.

  • Before the veil there were nine archetypes: for Mind, Body, Spirit each—Matrix, Potentiator, Significator.

  • Definitions (pre‑veil): Matrix of Mind is unmoving origin; Potentiator is vast sea of resources; Matrix of Body is unrestricted motion; Potentiator of Body regulates; Matrix of Spirit is deepest darkness; Potentiator of Spirit is sudden illumination.

  • Choice is implicit once conscious and unconscious are parted; early Logoi produced both polarities immediately, but harvestability lagged, prompting archetypal refinements.

  • Mind Archetypes (I–VII) clarified: VI Lovers = Transformation of Mind (choice of light/dark); VII Chariot = Great Way of Mind (the Way/Path summarizing I–VI). V Hierophant = Significator (see Session 80 note below).

🔎 Note on a correction: In this session Ra momentarily identifies the Hierophant as the Significator of the Body; in Session 80 Ra corrects it to the Significator of the Mind.

📚 Full Q‑by‑Q with commentary

79.0–79.5 — Opening, instrument, energy transfer, magical personality

What’s said: Don checks Carla’s condition; asks about the very large energy transfer last time (sexual); function is to strengthen the contact shuttle. On ritual: maintain the magical personality through the Circle of One only if you truly can; for this instrument it is inappropriate to carry the magical persona into trance.

Why it matters: This frames working safely with high‑voltage metaphysical states. The magical personality amplifies intent but also exposes one to catalyst beyond one’s training; humility and honesty of assessment are protective.

Practice: If you invoke a “best self” (prayer, robe, visualization), consciously de‑robe at close. Maintain a journal cue: “What persona am I invoking—and can I actually stabilize it?”

79.6–79.13 — Life before the veil

What’s said: Questioning the third‑density experience before the veil. No forgetting of prior lives; same many‑life incarnational rhythm; optimal incarnation is ~1,000 years. The veil—separating conscious from unconscious—was the first tool of free‑will extension; later refinements followed.

Why it matters: Pre‑veil life has maximal clarity but minimal drama; the veil inserts mystery, birthing uneducated portions of consciousness and therefore novel seeking and deeper polarization.

Metaphor: Think of a game with the map fully revealed (pre‑veil) vs. a fog‑of‑war map (post‑veil). The fog creates meaningful exploration.

79.14–79.21 — The original nine archetypes; defining Matrix/Potentiator/Significator

What’s said: Before veiling, the archetypical mind comprised nine: for Mind, Body, Spirit the Matrix, Potentiator, Significator. Ra defines each:

  • Matrix of Mind: unmoving source/field from which all mentation arises.

  • Potentiator of Mind: the sea of deep mind into which consciousness dips to create/ideate.

  • Significator of Mind/Body/Spirit: a simple, unified essence of each complex (pre‑veil).

  • Matrix of Body: unrestricted motion; Potentiator of Body: that which informs/regulates activity.

  • Matrix of Spirit: deepest darkness (unmoving); Potentiator of Spirit: sudden illuminating influence (the lightning‑flash).

Why it matters: These nine seeds are like the alphabet from which the later 22 archetypes spell out experience. They also give a pre‑veil baseline: consciousness was clear but static; veiling injects asymmetry and choice.

Visualization:

Pre‑Veil Archetype Grid —
Mind: I Matrix → II Potentiator → III Significator
Body: VIII Matrix → IX Potentiator → X Significator
Spirit: XV Matrix → XVI Potentiator → XVII Significator
Numbering anticipates the 22‑card system; content reflects the pre‑veil triads.
(Numbering shown here anticipates the 22‑card system but content is the pre‑veil triads.)

79.21–79.34 — Veil as “mystery‑filled”; early Logoi results; the “shadows” and the Choice

What’s said: Ra prefers “more mystery‑filled” to “unavailable” re: conscious–unconscious communication. Early Logoi immediately produced both polarities; however harvestability wasn’t immediate, prompting ongoing archetypal refinements. Post‑veil there were nine archetypes and many shadowsinchoate helpful structures not yet fully formed. Choice becomes implicit once two poles are sundered.

Why it matters: The Choice is not a late add‑on; it is baked into the veil. The “shadows” foreshadow later archetypes that articulate how mind learns under the veil.

Practice: Notice your day’s micro‑choices when the unconscious tugs—e.g., impulse to defend vs. reveal. Label the polarity felt and choose consciously.

79.34–79.41 — Mapping Mind I–VII: Catalyst, Experience, Transformation, Great Way

What’s said: Don sketches correspondences; Ra tweaks:

  • III Empress = Catalyst of the Mind (what acts upon the conscious mind).

  • IV Emperor = Experience of the Mind (the bias crystallized by past catalyst).

  • VI Lovers = Transformation of the Mind (the student choosing light vs. dark within mind).

  • VII Chariot = Great Way of the Mind (the Way/Path, a summary and royal movement through mind’s kingdom).

  • V Hierophant = Significator (clarified next Q‑block and corrected in Session 80).

Why it matters: This sequence shows how learning becomes character: catalyst → experience (bias) → transformative choosing → the way the mind travels thereafter.

Metaphor: Think of VII The Chariot as the mind’s operating system after installing the “Choice” update—stable, majestic, directional.

79.41–79.44 — The Hierophant as complex Significator

What’s said: Ra elaborates: the Significator of Mind becomes complex under the veil. The mind becomes an actor with will—it wants to know, but why and to what end? (Ra later corrects the body/mind slip.)

Why it matters: Your will’s aim is now central. Knowledge can serve separation or communion. The complex Significator is the chooser behind the choosing.

Practice: Write a one‑line intention: “I seek to know in order to __.” Re‑read before study or conflict; notice how it bends your interpretations.

79.51–79.53 — Magical potential before/after the veil

What’s said: Magical ability = conscious use of the so‑called unconscious. Pre‑veil there was maximal ability but far less desire/will to use it; post‑veil, ability is reduced, but desire and polarizing stakes increase.

Why it matters: The veil trades raw power for depth of heart. The game gets harder—and more meaningful.

Practice: When tempted to seek technique before purity, invert the order: aim (service) → presence (open heart) → method.

79.63–79.64 — Closing

What’s said: Guidance for Carla’s hands/arms; session abbreviated.

Why it matters: Even high metaphysics rides on humble care of the instrument—body and group logistics are part of the path.

🧪 Practice corner (try this)

  1. Veil drill — “Two‑step noticing”

    • Step 1: When emotionally charged, whisper: “This is my Matrix meeting my Potentiator.”

    • Step 2: Ask: “What bias (Experience IV) am I building if I act this way, and which Choice (VI) am I making?” Then proceed deliberately.

  2. The Chariot journal
Title a page “My Great Way of Mind.” List three non‑negotiable qualities (e.g., candor, courage, kindness) that you will “hitch” your chariot to this week. Review nightly.

  3. Significator aim‑setting
Before study/conflict, write a single line: “I seek to know in order to ____.” Revisit after the event. Did your will drift toward control or communion?

🧩 Extended notes & context

  • On the veil as “mystery‑filled”: Ra’s nuance preserves the living dialogue between conscious and unconscious. The veil is porous by design; dreams, synchronicity, and symbol remain channels. This is why disciplined attention functions as white magic.

  • On the nine → twenty‑two: The added archetypes (post‑veil) elaborate catalyst, experience, transformation, great ways for each complex—modeling how veiled learning polarizes. This session establishes the pre‑veil baseline from which that elaboration makes sense.

  • On magical potential vs. will: Pre‑veil, beings could use deep mind easily but lacked the existential pressure to do so. The veil introduces risk, error, and yearning—and with them the will to seek. That will is the engine of the Significator’s complexity.

  • On the Hierophant correction: Session 79 briefly associates V with the Body; Session 80 corrects: V is Significator of the Mind. This matters because mind’s will (not body’s mechanics) is the hinge of choice.

🤝 Companion reading (why it helps here)

🧠 Study prompts

  • Where did I feel the veil today—and what choice did I make there?

  • Which bias am I laying down as “Experience (IV)” by how I handled today’s catalyst?

  • What does my Significator “want to know,” and why?
