🧭 Session Snapshot
Date: July 27, 1983
Core Themes:
Exercise as metaphysical medicine: exact time/frequency guidance, and why walking near trees matters more than “creations of mind/body/spirit.”
Martyrdom refined: will used without joy and faith, and the call to “manifest knowledge” through balanced action + silence.
Stomach/back spasms: oil-fried foods, overstepping physical limits, and the point where symptoms become “less medicable” once catalyst is chosen.
Gandalf’s eyes: old age, drops vs confinement, “20–30%” improvement weighed against discomfort, and the closing counsel: rejoice in companionship.
A “subjectively interesting coincidence” about a publisher’s “Empress” line in the book intro.
One teaser of depth: “No” to the idea that pre-veil evolution had no archetypical plan.
🌟 Key Takeaways
Ra gives an unusually concrete exercise “budget.” General: each form (aerobics/walking/whirlpool) about 3–4 times per week; about an hour total per day. For this instrument’s specific conditions: whirlpool 4–5 times per week; walking + exercise as desired; total never exceed 90 minutes per day.
Walking is “more appropriate” partly because of proximity to second-density beings (trees), yet their habitat mainly offers proximity to human “creations,” which doesn’t feed this instrument’s mental/emotional needs as well.
Balancing can be counterintuitive: “to balance a distortion one must accentuate it.” Ra even allows that over-wearing the body (if correctly motivated) can move the system toward less deficit—after which gentler limits should return.
Martyrdom gets a precise definition here: will without joy and faith. Ra praises the new clarity and points toward a quieter medicine—regularized leisure, contemplation of silence, and “manifested silence.”
With Gandalf, Ra keeps it simple: the condition is largely old age; the “treatment” would be more distressing than the benefit; anesthesia would be harmful; the best help is affection and presence—rejoice in companionship.
🧩 Full Q&A with Commentary
104.1 — Condition of the instrument
Summary. The readings are somewhat less distorted toward physical bankruptcy and vital-energy loss than at the previous asking, though still considerably biased.
Commentary. The tone is quietly hopeful: “less distorted” isn’t “resolved,” but it’s movement in the right direction—exactly the kind of nuance this late material keeps emphasizing.
🏃♀️ Exercise, Trees, and the “Accentuation” Principle
104.2 — Optimum aerobics, walking, whirlpool
Summary. Ra answers in two layers.
General case: each form of exercise is well done about 3–4 times per week; total exercise about one hour per day.
Specific to this instrument’s yellow-ray physical difficulty and mind-complex distortion: swirling waters (whirlpool) 4–5 times per week; walking and exercising as much as desired; total never exceed 90 minutes per day.
Ra adds: the body is experiencing “lupoid” changes in much muscle tissue and some organs; exercise regains wasting muscular strength. Walking is in some ways more appropriate due to proximity to trees, but their habitation offers more proximity to human creations, which doesn’t feed this entity’s mental/emotional needs even if it produces similar physical results. Rhythmic exercise (dance-like athletic expression) fulfills more of the mental/emotional need.
Ra recommends encouraging exercise, except beyond the time limit (already far beyond physical limitations). And then the striking line: to balance a distortion one must accentuate it—so over-wearing the body may, if correctly motivated, produce less deficit, after which lesser limitations should be used.
Commentary. Two practical “dials” emerge:
Quantity dial: the 90-minute ceiling (even when desire is high).
Quality dial: the mental/emotional nourishment of movement (rhythm, dance, contact with living second density).
And the “accentuation” principle is delicate: it’s not permission for self-harm; it’s a metaphysical observation that sometimes the system corrects by temporarily intensifying a pattern—only if correctly motivated, and only as a bridge back to moderation.
🕯️ Will, Joy, Faith, and the Quiet Form of Balancing
104.3 — “Unwise will” = will without joy and faith (martyrdom)
Summary. Ra is pleased the instrument pondered their guidance. They say it is healthy (“salubrious”) for the instrument to have knowledge less distorted toward martyrdom and rich in promise. They add a stern, clarifying principle: the one strong to think shall either be strong to act, or what it has shall be removed—so manifestation of knowledge is to be examined.
Ra further notes: balancing best accomplished (for this entity) in analysis and manifestation seated with contemplation of silence; this may be strengthened by manifested silence and lack of routine activity. Ra recommends regularized leisure and asks the entity to discover the deeper truths for itself.
Commentary. This is one of the cleanest “anti-martyr” teachings in the late sessions:
Not “try harder.”
But “manifest what you know—then rest in silence so the knowing stays pure.”
If will is divorced from joy and faith, it becomes a kind of spiritual overdraw. The cure isn’t laziness; it’s right-sized action plus true leisure.
🍳 Spasms, Catalyst, and Staying Inside Physical Boundaries
104.4 — Anything further to help stomach/back spasms?
Summary. The greatest aid is already being given. Helpful: encourage refraining from oil-fried foods; cheerful harmony. The spasms must subside as a function of indigo-ray work (and prior recommendations). Ra recommends definitively refraining from over-stepping already swollen boundaries of physical limitation. The infection remains, and the symptoms are now far less “medicable,” the entity having chosen the catalyst.
Commentary. Ra’s “three-part medicine” here is very consistent with Sessions 102–103:
Remove needless friction (oil-fried strain).
Protect harmony (group field).
Stop overstepping limits (martyr reflex).
And the line about “less medicable” is sobering: once catalyst is chosen, the path becomes more about integration than quick fixes.
🐈 Gandalf: Old Age, Drops, and the Simplicity of Love
104.5–104.24 — What’s wrong with Gandalf’s eyes? Anything we can do?
Summary. Gandalf nears the end of the incarnation. Eyesight dims; the aqueous membrane toughens. This is not comfortable but causes no true discomfort the entity cannot largely ignore.
There is a course of therapy (drops) that would aid, but Ra does not recommend it because the condition is more benign than the treatment: the confinement required to administer drops would be more distressing than the current discomfort.
Gandalf can still see. Most probability vortices suggest no total loss of vision or life for about three seasons.
Ra’s further recommendations include: recognize that some vortices include longer incarnation; Gandalf may choose graduation if it desires, or reincarnate to be with companions it has loved; and “Betty” (Carla knows who this is) has means of making the cat more comfortable.
Regarding moving: vision is less than adequate, but smell and hearing compensate; a new environment would likely become acceptable within a short period. Administration without confinement is unlikely. No other techniques are offered. Metaphysical component is tiny—this is old age as “condign catalyst.”
Drops might improve eyesight perhaps 20–30% and reduce tightness, but increasing stiffness makes holding still uncomfortable. Anesthetic would cause harm outweighing the benefit. The number of applications would be roughly 40–60. Ra asks for breath expelled over the instrument’s breast (channel hygiene), then continues; frequency depends on the physician; Ra declines to name the drops. Final counsel: “Rejoice in its companionship.”
Commentary. This is one of the purest “service-to-others realism” moments:
Love doesn’t always mean intervention.
Sometimes love means refusing a well-intended “help” that causes more fear and restraint than relief.
And the phrase “rejoice in companionship” is not a consolation prize—it’s the actual practice in the face of aging: presence, tenderness, acceptance, and gratitude.
🧾 The “Empress” Sentence and a Coincidence Lesson
104.25 — Publisher added a line about Jesus’ teachings censored by “the Empress”
Summary. Ra says this follows the way of “subjectively interesting happenings, conditions, circumstances, or coincidences.” Ra suggests one more full query.
Commentary. Ra neither validates nor debunks—just classifies: interesting coincidence. It’s a gentle warning against building theology from editorial oddities.
🃏 One Door Left Ajar: Archetypes Before the Veil
104.26 — “Before veiling, there was no archetypical plan; evolution was totally free-form.” Correct?
Summary. Ra: “No.”
Commentary. The session ends with a single “No,” then a poetic closure about the “great illusion” and the undergirding majesty of the One Infinite Creator.
This is a deliberate cliff-edge: Ra refuses to let the student flatten pre-veil evolution into “no structure at all.” There is more architecture to the deep mind than that assumption allows.
🛠️ Practice Corner — Living Session 104
Exercise as nourishment (5 minutes). Choose movement that feeds the heart, not just the muscles: rhythm, flow, a walk where you actually notice living things (trees, sky, wind). Let it be “dance-like,” even if subtle.
The 90-minute vow (1 minute). Pick a realistic ceiling for exertion today (your version of Ra’s ceiling). Keep it—without bargaining.
Will with joy + faith (3 minutes). Before you push yourself: ask, “Is this powered by joy and faith… or by proving?” If it’s proving, take a smaller step and add one minute of gratitude.
Manifested silence (4 minutes). Do one ordinary thing (tea, dishes, desk) in full silence. Not as austerity—as medicine.
Rejoice in companionship (2 minutes). With a loved one (human or animal), practice one minute of undivided attention. Let that be your “help.”

🧠 Study Prompts
Where am I “accentuating” a distortion in the hope it will balance—when I might simply need moderation and kindness?
What does “regularized leisure” look like in my week if I treat it as spiritual hygiene, not indulgence?
Is my will currently powered by joy and faith—or by an unspoken contract to earn worth?
Where in my life is the best help not “fixing,” but rejoicing in companionship?
Note: This material reflects Ra’s metaphysical perspective and is offered for study—not as dogma. Use your discernment.
